AHA's Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
Dear Friends,
As many of you know, Hurricane Katrina has blazed a trail of devastation throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama. Across the Gulf Coast, Katrina engulfed thousands of homes and decimated the landscape in what could become the most destructive storm in U.S. history. Victims are stranded and in need of immediate medical care, food and water, and tens of thousands of people will need temporary housing for months.
The AMERICAN HINDU ASSOCIATION, INC, a Tax-Exempt Organization under Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c)(3), is soliciting your tax-deductible contribution to help the Victims of Hurricane Katrina.
We cannot leave our brothers and sisters at the mercy of their fate. At this moment they need our help with the calamity that has fallen upon them, to survive hunger and disease, and to rebuild their lives. AHA will channel 100% of your generous contributions to the voluntary, non-governmental organizations, who have been engaged in the relief and rehabilitation of victims in the past. The AHA is administered by volunteers who are not paid for their work.
We have set up an emergency fund to raise money for the victims of this disaster. If you wish to contribute to our disaster relief fund by check, please make the check payable to American Hindu Association and write " Victims of Hurricane Katrina " in the memo area. For further information please contact us whindu@yahoo.com.

American Hindu Association (AHA) - Condemns Terrorist Attacks in the US

American Hindu Association (AHA)- condemns the various terrorist attacks carried out yesterday, including the hijacking and destruction of commercial aircrafts with innocent passengers on board. It took lives of thousands of innocent people on the destruction of the twin towers of the World Trade Center, and the attack on the Pentagon. Today, our sympathies and prayers are with the victims of these evil acts.
AHA believes that terrorism is the ultimate refuge of cowards. These events demonstrate that cowardliness is an attack not just against US targets, but an attack against all humanities living in free, democratic and open societies around the world. It is clear that the perpetrators of these attacks are against the most fundamental of all human rights - the right to live peacefully.
We are peace lovers and we have been deeply touched by the ravages of terrorism. The whole nation is mourning on the death of our innocent fellow brothers and sisters. We extend our full support and share our grief with their family members and relatives.
AHA hopes that the democratic nations and societies around the world get together and discourage such an atrocious acts against humanity and ensure the fundamental rights of all human beings - freedom, life and liberty that can be pursued in peace.
